The Annual Parish Council meeting is in effect an AGM of the Council, and the Chairman and Vice Chairman are elected for the year and appointments made. It must be held in May.
The Annual Parish Meeting is not a Parish Council meeting. The parish is required to hold one annual parish meeting between 1 March and 1 June, arranged by the Parish Council. Proceedings must not begin before 6pm. The Chairman of the Parish Council (or vice-chair if the Chairman is unable to attend) presides. The Agenda is a standard agenda, to give reports on activities during the year. It is also an opportunity for parishioners to question and discuss any issues relating to the parish that they wish to raise, to receive reports from County and District Councillors and perhaps reports from those receiving Council donations, and from any other community organisations and interest groups that wish to participate.
