20mph Speed Limit Consultation?

Extent of Proposed 20 mph Speed Limit for The Street, Little Bealings

As you may be aware, Little Bealings Parish Council has obtained funding for the provision of a 20mph speed limit along a part of The Street. The County Council will be consulting on the extent of the speed limit and so will contact various properties and organisations in Little Bealings in the near future. A plan showing a proposed extent of the limit may be viewed via this link to 20 mph speedlimit

However, please note that in respect of the location of the signs, the County Council has advised that the "start and end points need to be able to accommodate new 600mm wide [20mph] signs on both sides of the carriageway. In addition to the physical size of the sign there needs to be 450mm sideway clearance from the edge of the sign to the edge of the carriageway to prevent vehicles striking the sign. Therefore verges need to be at least 1.05m wide."

The Parish Council would like the consultation to reach a wide audience and would be pleased to receive any comments you may have, especially on the extent of the speed limit, via email to: littlebealingspc@btinternet.com or by letter to The Clerk, Little Bealings Parish Council, The Hollies, Holly Lane, Little Bealings, Woodbridge IP13 6PW

Any comments you wish to make to the County Council regarding the consultation should go to Suffolk Highways Communication Team using Ref: 139042:
